About us

Our founder & CEO, Andrew, has spent twenty five years in academic, professional & trade publishing, up to and including board level director positions for international publishing houses. He has commissioned over four hundred books, primarily across the psychology, sports and business/management sectors & his enthusiasm for getting the right content to the right reader, in the right numbers burns brighter than ever.

Andrew encouraged me to develop my ideas from ‘workshop to hardback’ – Cognitive Therapy for Addiction was my first book and Andrew proved to be an excellent commissioning editor. He gave me space and time to develop my ideas while keeping me focused on the deadline – he has a real talent for spotting innovations that can develop the applied psychology field

Dr Frank Ryan
Imperial College London, UK & Former Chair of the British Psychological Society’s Faculty of Addiction

Andy is the best editor I’ve ever worked with, he challenged & supported me, while also giving me the freedom to write the book I wanted to write. Most crucially, he also understands the importance of a sophisticated marketing strategy – thoroughly recommended

Jessica Pryce-Jones
Executive Coach, Director and author of “Happiness at Work: Maximizing Your Psychological Capital for Success”

Andy’s proactivity and enthusiasm is living proof to one of the leitmotivs of a publishing house, namely that you need to have the right person in the right job. I’m excited to see Sequioa Books launch and would thoroughly recommend working with them

Professor Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic
University College London, UK and Columbia University, USA

I have found Andy to be a very supportive editor who genuinely seeks to support authors through the manuscript preparation and publication phases of book development.

Professor Stewart Cotterill
Head of School for Psychology, Sport and Physical Activity at AECC University College, UK & Chair of the British Psychological Society (BPS) Division of Sport and Exercise Psychology.

As an inexperienced author, I really enjoyed working with Andy. He supported us through the whole process and the end product was really eye-catching, thanks to Andy’s genius idea for the cover.

Professor Samantha Cartwright-Hatton
University of Sussex, UK.

I have published many books with many publishers over the last 2 decades, and Andy was and still is my absolute favourite editor. He is very much an author’s editor who works collaboratively and effectively with the author toward a mutual goal. I’m extremely excited to see a new publishing company based around his unique ethos. I strongly recommend Sequoia Books to any potential author.

Professor Stefan G. Hofmann
Director of the Psychotherapy and Emotion Research Laboratory, Boston University, USA & former president of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies & the International Association for Cognitive Psychotherapy.
